Ag Plastic Recycling

Helping Madera County farmers responsibly manage and recycle agricultural plastic waste.

Sustainable Agriculture

Agricultural Plastic Recycling Program

The Ag Plastic Recycling initiative addresses agricultural plastic waste by providing farmers with accessible recycling options. The program aims to minimize the environmental impact of plastic materials, promoting cleaner and healthier agricultural lands.

By transforming agricultural waste into valuable resources through a circular economy approach, we reduce the plastic burden on farming operations, decrease pollution of lands and water sources, and provide practical disposal solutions for farmers—supporting environmentally responsible practices while reducing disposal costs.

How It Works

Partnering for a Cleaner Future

The MCRCD coordinates with local agencies, waste management providers, and agricultural organizations to make recycling simple and accessible.

01

Collection Events

We coordinate recycling collection events throughout Madera County at convenient times and locations for local farmers.

02

Sort & Drop Off

Farmers bring their clean, sorted agricultural plastics to designated drop-off points during scheduled collection periods.

03

Responsible Processing

Collected materials are processed and recycled, diverting waste from landfills and giving agricultural plastics a second life.

By working together, we can significantly reduce the volume of agricultural plastic waste entering our landfills and environment—supporting both the land and the economic health of our farming community.
